Sharing success: Denison, Sherman announce upcoming partnership, event

For many decades, the cities of Sherman and Denison have had a rivalry that, at times, extends beyond the borders of the playing field. However, as both communities prepare for growth, city leaders are prepared to bury that hatchet — at least off the football field — in exchange for a new partnership.

As a part of the Denison Development Alliance’s annual Economic Summit, officials from the city of Sherman and Denison announced an upcoming partnership and event that hopes to bring together city resources from both sides of FM 691 in support of regional growth.

So many things benefit both communities,” Denison Mayor Robert Crawley said during the conference. “Even though we each have our individual personalities, we think it is time to grow and help each other as we can.”
