As Texas Instruments and Global Wafers continue construction on nearly $35 billion of new facilities, the companies that will support these developments are continuing to arrive in Texoma. The Sherman Economic Development Corp. approved two agreements Tuesday afternoon for new companies that will make up a part of the supply chain for the region’s growing semiconductor industry.
Tuesday’s sales agreements relate to a total of about 10 acres of land in SEDCO’s Progress Park III industrial park. In February, SEDCO agreed to sell about 10 acres of land in the development to HPI Acquisition, LLC for the development of facilities for equipment manufacturer Tokyo Electron. Now, the economic developer is modifying the agreement to meet Tokyo Electron’s direct needs.
“There are the kind of people that need to be inside of their customer’s doors within like a 10-minute period, 15-minute period, to recalibrate these machines, to change the tool, to adjust whatever they need to do,” Sharp said in February, describing Tokyo Electron.
