A young entrepreneurial company got some help expanding its base in Sherman. A nearly $327,000 land sale to Arctic Bracing for new facilities in Sherman was approved by the Sherman Economic Development Corporation last week.
The company was one of the first three companies to receive funding through the Raising Innovative Sherman Entrepreneurs program, also known as RISE. SEDCO partnered with Austin College and other community partners to provide a $100,000 grant to the startup company in April during the program’s first awards ceremony. This was the largest of the three grants that were awarded this year.
“They’ve just had an incredible growth story. I mean, they are so far ahead of their sales projections,” SEDCO President Kent Sharp said. “… There’s just been that high of demand for that product and it has really taken off.”
