Texas Instruments to Add 200 Jobs In Sherman Frank Gadek | 23-Oct-2007
Texas Instruments announced Monday it will be adding 200 workers and new equipment to its Sherman plant. TI spokeswoman Kim Quirk said TI is expanding here because the Sherman plant is one of its most efficient. TI plans to consolidate its Tucson, AZ manufacturing operations to Sherman over the next two years.
The analog chip is a group of products that are used in consumer products from fish locators to satellites. Analog chips go before and after digital chips, Quirk expained. Currently TI is the largest player in the analog chip field and captures 13 percent of the market and that leaves a lot of room for growth. TI has a great relationship with the community and colleges in the area, providing the kind of labor force TI needs.
